Prepare the night before

Preparing things, the night before will make the morning easier for you and you’ll know where everything is, such as leaving your clothes that you want to wear for that day or prepping dinner the night before if you’re working late. Doing these simple things will take the pressure off you of doing it later on. Not only will you have a more productive day, you will have a better mood knowing you are in control of what you do throughout the day. Furthermore, you’ll have a much better sleep by not overthinking about unfinished tasks you still have swirling in your mind. But don’t worry, this is normal. This is due to the fact that when we go to sleep, our minds actually have the time to think thoroughly and then you might have an idea for that big business plan your working on at work. However, when you constantly think about it at night, you toss and turn, worrying in case you forget it tomorrow morning, so you never really have a good night's sleep because of it.
But if you have a specific system in place, you’ll be able to remember things the next day, even writing it down on a post-it note and leaving it on your laptop for the next morning will ease the pressure off your mind of remembering and let you have a better nights sleep.
You should try one or more of these tips from the following:
· Sort out your clothes for the next day
· Write down a to-do list
· Put away any work that you haven’t finished at least an hour bed
· Take the time to chill out before bed
· Preparing your breakfast for the morning
· Having all your essentials packed

Have you ever had one of those days when you can’t remember where you set things down, and then you’re constantly searching for it? It's normal to have that odd day where you can’t find anything, however when it becomes everyday you can’t find something, it simply means you’re disorganized. The time you go to tidy up your bedroom or help with cleaning the house, have a systematic structure for your drawers or cupboards such as socks in the top drawer, T-shirts in the second drawer, and so forth. By keeping your personal items in one place, this will help you find things quicker and easier, rather than searching around to find where your comfy T-shirt went to. For many people, having a clean and tidy room be extremely soothing for them, however for others this can be different. Some people can become anxious and claustrophobic in a cluttered room, while others can feel their most creative amid the squalor.
Being organized is a huge thing nowadays. From having your books in the right place to subjects in the correct order, and this is something that everyone wants to find to perfectly arrange every aspect of their lives.

When we get fed up with our usual way of living, that is when we know it’s time for change. If you are one of those people who are constantly overwhelmed with their daily tasks, you should take the time to edit down and organize only what you need to do on a daily basis. This is especially if you are someone who is constantly late, planning out your day first thing in the morning can make a huge difference and will help you to get through the day better. Be sure also to do this ahead of time and include preparation and travel time.
Repeat it Daily

It is easier said than done. Making something a daily habit can be difficult at first, but once you keep doing repeating that habit it becomes a normal part of your daily routine. By adding the littlest thing to your routine each day will not only help you get through the day quicker, but you will feel relieved with having it out of the way. This is the same as if you’re someone who loves sports such as Taekwondo or rugby etc. repeating the same practice trial every day will help you to get better at the skill but also help you perform better on the day. Many world champion boxers, rugby players, and tennis players have to prepare for an upcoming event, so they train for long periods of time until they feel ready to smash the event.
So, whether your goal is to lose weight or play that music piece on the clarinet, then the only way it can become possible is if you practice every day. Like they say, “practice makes perfect”.
To help you remember the things you need to do daily, its best to keep a To-Do list of the tasks you need to get done for the day. I prefer using the app “Any.do” which allows setting tasks in different categories. I like using this app because it helps me to see what I need to get done for different reasons and lets me set a reminder about the task I need to complete. The good thing about this app is its free to download from the Android Play Store or the Apple App Store. So, if you feel like you would benefit from setting tasks daily, then I recommend that you try this app.
Create a system that suits you

For you to follow a new routine, you need to create it in a way that fits around your lifestyle, such as work and family time. When you create a new routine, it is a little bit of science and a little bit of art. The science of it all is figuring out what it is you need to get done, while the art is figuring out when to do it.
However, when you begin your new routine, do not necessarily believe that you need to stick to that exact same routine. Firstly, you should take this new daily routine for a test drive for 30 days, and once the 30 days end, ask yourself how you feel, did you schedule your tasks at activities at a time that makes sense? Do you need to adjust anything? Tweak anything that is not working for you on a case-by-case basis and then assess yourself after another 30 days and see if it does any better for you.
When beginning a new routine, first write down the things you would like to get out of the way first and then list them in order of priority. So, for example, going for a run in the morning could be your number 1 priority because your health has the most importance. Having poor health will not help much to get through a busy workload. Furthermore, make sure that you are taking breaks in between each task, doing too many tasks at the one time can cause you to procrastinate and never get anything done. We can feel overwhelmed sometimes when we know we have too much to do but have no idea where to start, you should first take a deep breath and then focus on one task at a time, after all, there’s no point in trying to everything at one time, it gets us nowhere.
